Before placing your bid for either of these properties, please be aware of the schedule of bell ringing at St Dunstan’s Church.

Some applicants may find this inconvenient as it is close to Dame Colet Court & Baltonsborough Court.

St Dunstan's Church bell ringing schedule

Weekly

  • Thursday, 7.30pm to 9.30pm (practice)
  • Sunday, 9.15am to 10am (for service)
  • Monthly Thursday evening, 6.15pm to 7.30pm (one Thursday per month) (training)
  • Sunday evening, 4.30pm to 6pm (one or two Sundays per month) (for service)

Saturdays - occasionally

Weddings, usually spring through summer, usually no earlier than 11am and no later than 6pm. Ringing usually for 30 minutes before and / or 20 to 30 minutes after the service(s).

There may be more than one wedding on a given Saturday.

Visiting bands

A combination of visitor types, up to eight times per year. Usually Saturdays, occasionally on a weekday.

  • Travelling bands - ringing for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Quarter peal bands - ringing for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes.
  • Peal bands - ringing for 3.5 to 4 hours.

Annually

  • Remembrance Sunday: half- muffled bells 8.45am to 10am.
  • Christmas - service ringing: usually Christmas morning, 9.15am to 10am.
  • New Year - occasional midnight ringing - for a short time before and after midnight.
  • Holy week - the bells are silent and ringing is resumed Easter morning.
